California Scholarship Federation

The purpose of the California Scholarship Federation is to foster high standards of scholarship, service, and citizenship on the part of the students of Vacaville Christian High School and to promote appropriate activities among its members. Students receiving an A or B in their core subject classes, as determined by a CSF approved class list, are eligible for membership each semester beginning in the spring of their sophomore year.

Students who have earned membership in at least four of their eligible six semesters (one of which must be during their senior year) earn Life Membership. All Life Members are awarded:
1. The official C.S.F. life membership pin.
2. The C.S.F. seal on their diploma and an indication of seal bearer status on the permanent academic record (transcript).
3. A gold tassel for graduation.
4. A set of gold cords to be worn at graduation.

Students who have qualified for 100% Membership, the Highest Honor in the California Scholarship Federation have earned CSF membership in each semester that they were eligible (six total). All 100% Members are awarded a special certificate and a gold satin stole to wear with their graduation gown.

The members meet once or twice a semester during the lunch period to elect officers and conduct other business as needed. Usually, awards are distributed at an Awards Ceremony held in the evening at the end of May followed by a dessert social.

The CSF advisor is Rusty Gaudard. Students who feel they are eligible must submit an application along with a copy of their previous semester grades and $10.00 dues. For more information, please contact Rusty Gaudard at rgaudard@go-vcs.com.

National Honor Society

The VCHS Chapter of the National Honor Society (NHS) is a duly chartered and affiliated chapter of this prestigious national organization. Membership is open to 10th, 11th, and 12th grades students who have attended VCHS for at least a year and who meet the required standards in four areas of evaluation: scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Standards for selection are established by the national office of NHS and have been revised to meet our local chapter needs. Students are selected to be members by a five-member Faculty Council appointed by the principal, which bestows this honor upon qualified students on behalf of the faculty of our school at the beginning of the fall semester.

Mu Alpha Theta

Mu Alpha Theta is a National Mathematics Honor Society encompassing over 65,000 students in more than 1,400 schools. They are dedicated in inspiring interest in mathematics, developing strong scholarship in the subject, and promoting the enjoyment of mathematics in high school and two-year college students. Mu Alpha Theta achieves these goals by providing a method for schools to recognize and encourage those students who enjoy and excel in mathematics and offering special awards to students.

Students must have earned a B in previous college prep math classes and be currently in a college prep math class.
